How to Make Crispy Air Fryer Green Beans with Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed

  • 4 oz sliced mushrooms

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions:

  1. Prep Time: 2 minutes

    • Start by trimming the green beans and slicing the mushrooms if they aren't pre-sliced.

  2. Seasoning:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the trimmed green beans, sliced mushrooms, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together until the green beans and mushrooms are evenly coated with the seasonings.

  3. Air Frying:

    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (or 200°C).

    • Place the seasoned green beans and mushrooms in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook them in batches.

    • Air fry at 400°F for 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.

  4. Serve:

    • Once they're golden brown and crispy, remove the green beans and mushrooms from the air fryer basket.

    • Serve hot as a delightful side dish alongside your favorite main course.

Tips for Perfect Green Beans:

  • Air Fryer Variations: If using fresh green beans, adjust the cooking time to 9 minutes at 375°F, shaking halfway through.

  • Flavor Boost: Add a sprinkle of parmesan cheese, toasted almonds, or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice just before serving for an extra burst of flavor.

  • Avoid Overcrowding: To achieve that perfect crispiness, make sure the green beans and mushrooms are spread out in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and toss to coat.

  2. Air fry at 400°F for 15 minutes.

FAQ

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can stay fresh for up to 3 days, making them a convenient addition to meals throughout the week.

  • For fresh green beans, air fry at 400°F for about 12 minutes, shaking halfway through. Adjust the time if your air fryer's basket is fuller or smaller than average.

  • To achieve crispy green beans, make sure to spread them out in a single layer in the air fryer basket. This allows hot air to circulate evenly around each bean.

  •  Avocado oil or olive oil are excellent choices for air frying green beans. They provide a light coating that helps achieve that desirable crispiness with less oil.

  • The green beans should be golden brown and crispy on the outside. Taste test one to ensure they're cooked to your liking before serving.

  • To maintain their crispiness, reheat leftover green beans in the air fryer at 350°F for a few minutes, checking periodically until warmed through for best results.

  • Certainly! Sprinkle some parmesan cheese, toasted almonds, or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice over the green beans just before serving for added flavor and texture.

I hope you enjoy these crispy air fryer green beans with mushrooms as a delicious, healthy addition to your meals! Whether as a quick side dish or a flavorful main ingredient, they're sure to elevate your dining experience.
