I Tried Tiktok's Viral Cookie Croissant - Crookie
This TikTok cookie croissant is the most popular internet trend! It sandwiches together a flaky croissant with a gooey chocolate chip cookie. It originated in Paris, France, but you can try it at home with just two simple ingredients.
It is ridiculously delicious and easy to make!
Tips:
Evenly spread the cookie dough! Make sure to flatten the cookie dough (if using store-bought) to ensure it cooks evenly. If the cookie dough isn't flattened, it will not cook in 8 minutes.
Monitor your cooking time! Each air fryer cooks differently, and each cookie cooks differently. Monitoring around 6 minutes is a great place to start! Mine cooked perfectly in just 8 minutes. You may need to keep it in for 10 minutes!
Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket! If cooking multiple croissant cookies, ensure there is enough space for the air to circulate.
Experiment with flavors! You can use any flavor cookie in the center and on top. You could use a chocolate cookie with chocolate chips on top!
These are best enjoyed warm, straight from the air fryer. If they cool down, you can pop them in the air fryer again for a minute to warm up.
Ingredients:
You only need 2 ingredients!
Any croissant from your nearest grocery store or bakery.
Any packaged cookie dough, or you can make your own.
My favorite packaged cookie dough is the one by Sweet Loren's. I used Sweet Loren's Gluten-Free Vegan Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough. I love that it's gluten-free and vegan. It's dangerously delicious.
If you want to make your own cookie dough, I have a few easy cookie recipes you could use! You can bake the rest up and make some cookies!! They have the best ingredients.
Ingredients:
1 Croissant
Cookie dough (store-bought or homemade)
Cooking spray (optional, for greasing the air fryer basket)
Directions:
Slice the croissant in half horizontally, without going all the way through, creating two equal halves still connected to each other.
2. Flatten two portions of cookie dough, place them at the center of a sliced croissant, and then fold the croissant over to create a sandwich with the cookie dough in the center.
3. Flatten 2 additional cookies and place them on top of the croissant. You can cut the cookies in half to ensure they fit inside and on top. Then, place the croissant cookies in the air fryer basket.
4. Air fry the cookie croissant at 325°F (163°C) for approximately 8 minutes or until the croissant is golden brown and the cookie dough is baked through. Cooking times may vary depending on the size and model of your air fryer, so keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
5. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before enjoying it! Optional to finish with some powdered sugar!
Storage:
If you have any leftovers (which is unlikely), you can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat them in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain their crispiness before enjoying again.
