It really is minimal effort with maximum flavor. I really love the shortcuts like using store-bought BBQ sauce and a simple seasoning blend like garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Our Place Wonder Oven
This is my go-to air fryer for easy lunches and dinners. It’s the perfect size for two people or to cook in batches.
This compact countertop appliance is your all-in-one solution for air frying, toasting, roasting, baking, reheating, and broiling, with added steam technology for perfectly-cooked food.
It comes in multiple colors to match your kitchen perfectly.
My belief is that semi-homemade meals are the best! That’s why I like using a frozen cauliflower mash too! It has the best ingredients and it’s a fun alternative to mashed potatoes!
My tricks for preparing frozen salmon are as follows:
Thaw it in a bowl of cold water for 10 minutes. That’s it! After 10 minutes, it will be thawed and ready to cook!
Next, you want to remove the skin. To do that, place it on a wire rack baking sheet, with the skin side up. Pour boiling water on top of it, and just wait 2 minutes, the skin will peel right off! It’s incredible!
Once the skin is off, cut it into bite size cubes! Then you are ready to go!
Why Alaska Sockeye Salmon?
Did you know that Alaska sockeye salmon are always wild-caught and sustainable? They swim freely! They are known for their rich flavor, firm texture and especially that brilliant red hue that holds its color even after cooking.
Alaska sockeye salmon is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, proteins and vitamins! It’s really easy to cook, and works well with any cooking method! It has a high oil content, which makes it difficult to overcook.
They are relatively thin, which means they cook faster! Boom! You get a faster meal!
Other Honey BBQ Salmon Ingredients:
Dijon mustard
That is my trick to the best air fryer salmon marinade. It adds a little flavor and helps the other ingredients stick to the salmon.
BBQ Sauce
You can use your favorite sauce or any BBQ sauce on hand. If you like it more smoky, go for that, if you like it sweeter, go for that. It’s up to you!
Honey
This balances out the spice of the BBQ sauce! It just adds some honey. And who doesn’t love honey BBQ.
How to cook the salmon:
The salmon can be marinated in the zesty BBQ sauce blend for a punchy glaze that'll take your salmon from basic to bold! You can let it sit for 5 minutes, or marinade it for a few hours. Either way, it will be delicious!
Spray your air fryer with avocado oil spray. Then pop those salmon bites into the air fryer, let them crisp up for just 8 minutes.
You will tell that the Alaska sockeye salmon is done as the meat should be pale orange and flakey on the outside with a bright orange opaque center. If you put a fork into the thickest part, the salmon should flake!
Sockeye salmon is best served medium rare or with an internal temperature between 110-120F.
