Oat milk has quickly become my favorite dairy-free nut milk to drink.
It's so rich and creamy and doesn't have the strange aftertaste that many other milk alternatives do. Finding out I could make oat milk easily at home has been an absolute game-changer for me, and I just had to share this incredible recipe with all of you. Here's an affordable and easy 5-minute recipe to make oat milk from scratch at home!
Affordable 5-Minute Homemade Oat Milk
Yield: 1 Jar
Oat milk has quickly become my favorite dairy-free nut milk to drink.
Ingredients
- 3 cups water, filtered & chilled
- 1/2 cup organic rolled oats
- 1 date, pitted (add more for added sweetness)
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients to a high-speed blender.
- Blend for no more than 20 seconds on medium/high speed.
- Pour the blended oat milk through a nut milk bag (I use Ellie’s Best) and into a bowl.
- Pour the strained oat milk into a mason jar or glass bottle and keep it in the fridge for about 5-6 days.
- You can freeze the oat milk pulp and add it into smoothies, or even just use it in a cookie recipe (there are plenty of cookie recipes online).
